The Anointing

Do you want to change?  There is change for you.  Enter His presence and spend time getting to know Him.  Abide in His presence, spend time in His glory, and it will have effect on your life and be evident to those around you.

Jesus was anointed with the Holy Ghost and power and went about doing good and healing all – for God was with Him.  The glory of God, the Spirit, comes from the presence of God, doing good, healing all, and meeting needs.

The anointing is what breaks the yokes of bondage.  Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.  We are set free and transformed through tangible times in His presence as well as in times in His Word.  Through the Spirit and through the Word – that is the way that all the good things of God come through into our lives.

Isaiah 10:27 – It shall come to pass in that day that his burden will be taken away from your shoulder, and his yoke from your neck, and the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing.  God’s presence destroys yokes of bondage.

2 Corinthians 3:18 – As I spend time with the Lord beholding His glory, the Spirit of the Lord is changing me into the same image from glory to glory – glory that is much more glorious than that which caused the face of Moses to shine in glory – so people can also see with me that I have been with the Lord.

Luke 6:19 – Power was coming out from Him and healing all of them.

Acts 19:11-12 – This power was transmitted from Paul through handkerchiefs or aprons that had touched his skin and were brought to the sick, and their diseases left them, and the evil spirits came out of them.

This power is tangible.  It is not merely a doctrine or a spiritual thing; it is also a physical reality.  It delivers people.  It heals them.  It sets them free makes changes in their lives and situations.

Mark 5:28-34 – Immediately He was aware that power had gone forth from Him.  It was released to meet her faith and heal her.  It was a tangible spiritual force that had results in the natural world.

Luke 8:46 – Jesus said, someone touched me; for I noticed that power had gone out from me.

How did the people perceive this power?  It must have been in some tangible way.  Did they feel it in their bodies?  Did it knock them to the ground?  We know it brought actual, physical results in their bodies?  The glory is a spiritual force but affects the natural world.  It can be felt and perceived and experienced.

This power is transferable.  It will flow from one person to another, mainly by touch such as in the laying on of hands.  In Paul it was stored in a handkerchief and passed on.  In Jesus it was stored in His clothing and released to those who had faith in Him, even without His conscious cooperation.  It was still in Elisha’s dead bones years later, enough to raise someone from the dead!  It came through the shadow or Peter as He passed by and healed those who came into contact with it.

Acts 5:15-16 – This power was so strong through Peter that even his shadow falling on people healed them.

2 Kings 13:20-21 – There was still enough of this power in Elisha’s bones that it raised a man from the dead after he had been dead for years.

Glory – the manifested presence of God, God revealing Himself in a way perceivable to our senses.

Habakkuk 2:14 – For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.

Habakkuk 3:3-4 – His splendor covers the heavens, and the earth is filled with His praise.  His radiance is like the sunlight; He has rays flashing from His hand; and there is the hiding of His power.

Malachi 4:2 – But unto you who revere and worshipfully fear my name shall the Sun of Rigorousness arise with healing in His wings and His beams, and you shall go forth and gambol like calves (released) from the stall and leap for joy.  And you shall tread down the lawless and wicked, for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, says the Lord.

This presence releases us from bondage and fills us with authority and power to tread down every work of the enemy first in our own lives in then in those around us.  Victory comes from His presence.  Help comes from His presence.  Change comes from His presence.

I am made free, changed, transformed in His glory.  God’s anointing power not only heals, delivers and sets us free; it also provides protection.  There is protection in this glory.  There is protection in His presence.  There is a place of safety and refuge and a true hiding place from the dangers of life around us.

Psalm 31:19-20 – Great goodness is stored up for those who fear and worship the Lord, for those who take refuge in Him.  They are hidden in the secret place of His presence.

Psalm 57:1 – I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed.

Psalm 27:5 – For in the day of trouble He will keep me safe in His dwelling; He will hide me in the shelter of His tabernacle and set me high upon a rock.  Then my head will be exalted above the enemies who surround me; and I will offer in His tent sacrifices with shouts of joy.

Exodus 14:19-20 – Then the angel of God, who had been traveling in front of Israel’s army, withdrew and went behind them.  The pillar of cloud also moved from in front and stood behind them, coming between the armies of Egypt and Israel. Throughout the night the cloud brought darkness to the one side and light to the other side; so neither went near the other all night long.

Psalm 91 – He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.  Surely He will save you from the snare of the trapper; under His wings you will find refuge.  You will not fear disaster; it may happen to those around you, but will not come near you.

(If Peter’s shadow could heal, how much more could dwelling and resting in the shadow of God Himself heal you and deliver you and meet your every need!!!)
