Do You Want to Be One of God’s Favorites? You Can!
God loves everyone the same, but according to Scripture there are those He He shows favor to above others. The Scriptures that that God is seeking for people to bless, to help and to deliver. There are things you can do to put yourself in this category. We’ll look at some scriptures to see who God favors.
God is seeking for men
2 Chronicles 16:9 – He is looking for someone to show Himself strong in behalf of, someone whose heart is blameless and devoted.
NASB – For the eyes of the Lord move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His.
God is looking for someone to show HImself strong in behalf of, someone to strongly support. What kind of person is He looking for? He is looking for someone whose heart is blameless and devoted, someone whose heart is completely His.
Acts 13:22 – He found one in David, a man after His own heart who would do all His will and one who would carry out His program fully.
In David God found a man after His own heart who would do all His will, who would carry out His program fully. God seeks those who have His heart, but more than that, He can use someone who will do all of His will.
John 4:34-35 – God seeks worshipers, those who will worship in spirit and in truth.
We say that we are seeking God, but how about if God seeks you? Be a worshiper and God will seek you out. God is seeking true and sincere worshipers.
Be One He Answers and Helps
Malachi 3:16-17 – He takes heed to those who fear Him and talk often of Him. He favors them and claims them for His own. He even spares them as a man spares his own son who serves him.
Those who fear the Lord and talk often of Him are favored of Him. You can from this verse that God’s favorites are those who fear and worship Him and talk often about Him. Someone who fears Him and trusts Him will be spared many things that fall upon those around them.
Psalm 33:16-19 – He doesn’t delight in strength or ability, but His eye is upon and He favors those who wait for Him and hope in His mercy.
Do you want to be someone God delights in? He doesn’t delight in those with great strength and ability. He delights in those who wait for Him and hope in His mercy. He favors those who expect Him to be good and kind and merciful.
Psalm 32:10 – Mercy compasses about the one who trusts in, relies on and leans on the Lord.
Do you want His mercy to surround you? Trust in Him and lean on Him.
Psalm 31:19 – Great goodness is laid up for those who trust in Him and take refuge in Him.
There is GREAT goodness laid up for certain people. It isn’t for the wise or good; it is for those who trust in Him and take refuge in Him, those who make Him their hiding place.
Those who trust God are Blessed Above Others
Psalm 91 – There are blessings and protection and favor above others for those who make Him their refuge and trust in Him.
The blessings of Psalm 91 are for those who make Him their refuge and trust in Him. There are many Christians who don’t really trust in Him and run to friends or the world or just about anyone else before running to God for refuge and help. They won’t enjoy the fullness of protection and provision that God has provided for those who trust in Him.
Psalm 28:7 – He helps those who trust Him from their heart.
Psalm 18:30 – He shields those who trust in Him.
Psalm 17:7 – He saves and delivers those who trust in Him.
Psalm 145:18-19 – He is near to all who call on Him sincerely. He fulfills the desire of those who revere Him. He hears them cry and saves them.
Psalm 147:10-11 – He takes pleasure in those who revere Him and hope in His mercy.
Psalm 86:5 – There is abundant mercy for those who call upon Him.
Those call upon Him are the ones who receive His abundant mercy.
Psalm 50:14-15 – He will deliver those who offer sacrifices of thanksgiving, pay their vows and call upon Him.
Psalm 81:13-14 – Oh that my people would listen to me, that Israel would walk in my ways! Speedily then I would subdue their enemies and turn my hand against their adversaries.
So many blessings listed here, God seeking for you, help, deliverance, abundant mercy, fulfilled desires, salvation, shielding and protection, great goodness. These blessings are laid up for all of us, but not all of us enjoy them. Be one who lives in them. How?
These scriptures are similar in the things God delights in and the kind of person He will favor. Some of these qualities are: be devoted to God, trust and take refuge in God, hope in His mercy, listen to Him and walk in His ways, call upon Him, offer sacrifices of thanksgiving, be a worshiper of God.
Do you want to be God’s favorite? Trust in Him and worship Him, listen to Him and walk with Him, be completely devoted to Him and He will find you one He can show Himself strong for and through!
