Knowing His Love

The below is based on Ephesians 3:16-19; 1 John 4:16-18; John 3:16-17; Romans 5:8-10; John 17:6; Philippians 3:12-14; 1 Timothy 6:12.  Read them in the Amplified Bible.

May He grant me out of the rich treasury of His glory to be strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in the inner man by the Holy Spirit Himself indwelling my innermost being and personality… that I may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp what is the breadth and length and height and depth of His love.

I press on to lay hold of (grasp) and make my own that for which Christ Jesus has laid hold of me and made me His own. I press on toward the goal towards the prize to which God in Christ is calling me upward.

I fight the good fight of faith to lay hold of the eternal life to which I was called.

I can grasp things in the Spirit but only as I am strengthened with His power in my inner man by His Spirit. I don’t get the power to grasp spiritual things with my own mind or will power. It is with my spirit that I grasp and hold onto spiritual things. And for that I am dependent upon the Holy Spirit to strengthen me in my inner man with HIS power.

Continue to reveal to me you character and your very self – that you love may be in me (felt in my heart) – John 17:6.

One thing I pray is that I might fully comprehend and grasp is His love. I need this more than anything as part of my equipment in life. Yes, Lord, that I might know and believe the love you have for me that casts out all fear and dread and sense of guilt that your love might be so real to me that it is felt in my heart and comes out of me in my thoughts and actions towards others.

God so greatly loves and dearly prizes ME that He gave His only Son for me. He didn’t send His Son in order to judge (reject, condemn or pass sentence) on me but that I might be saved through Him. He is so rich in mercy that because of and in order to satisfy His great and wonderful and intense love for me that even when I was dead in sin He made me alive together in Christ. He gave the very life of Christ Himself – for me.

God showed and clearly proved and demonstrated His love for me by the fact that while I was still a sinner Christ died for me. While I was His enemy I was reconciled, much more surely now shall I be saved through His life.

Lord I know these things as doctrines; let them become an actual part of my being, an abiding and central part of my entire self – that I might be filled up to all the fullness of God, that I might have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and that I might become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself.

AMEN!
