Darkened Counsel

Job 38:1-2 – Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind and said, who is this that darkens counsel by words without knowledge?

Job 42:3 – You asked, who is this who hides counsel without knowledge?  Therefore, I have uttered what I did not understand.

People who speak words without knowledge darken counsel; God’s true counsel is eclipsed by wrong knowledge and tradition. Many utter what they do not understand and cause great confusion among other.

1 Timothy 1:6-7 – But certain individuals have missed the mark on this very matter [and] have wandered away into vain arguments and discussions and purposeless talk. They are ambitious to be doctors of the Law, but they have no understanding either of the words and terms they use or of the subjects about which they make [such] dogmatic assertions.

There are those who desire to be teachers who have no understanding either of the words they use or the subjects which they try to teach.  This only leads to trouble.  People listen to them and take what they say as true and go astray.  This is an example of those who darken counsel by words without knowledge.

Hosea 4:6 – My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being My priest. Since you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.

God’s people are destroyed and fall into troubles because of their lack of true knowledge. Then they like to blame it on God saying He caused the troubles to teach them something.

Isaiah 5:13 – Therefore My people go into exile for their lack of knowledge; and their honorable men are famished, and their multitude is parched with thirst.

Because of lack of knowledge and wrong knowledge, honorable men are famished and the multitude is parched with thirst.

Romans 10:2-3 – For I testify about them that they have a zeal for God, but not in accordance with knowledge.  For not knowing about God’s righteousness and seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God.

Many have a zeal for God but lack true knowledge. Being ignorant of God’s ways, they establish their own and teach them as gospel truth.  But because of lack of knowledge, they don’t submit themselves to God’s ways and therefore are destroyed and go into exile and fall into things God never intended for them to experience.

So I continue to pray for the entire Body of Christ:

Ephesians 1:17-23 – That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.
