Psalms 46:1 – God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

God is a very PRESENT help in trouble. The presence of God isn’t just a religious idea or doctrine. The presence of God is the presence and reality of an actual, powerful loving being with me always.

Matthew 28:20 (Amplified Bible) – Teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you, and behold, I am with you all the days (perpetually, uniformly, and on every occasion), to the [very] close and consummation of the age. Amen (so let it be).

I love this.  He is with me always, all the days, perpetually, uniformly and on every occasion. This means that no matter how I feel or what is going on, He is there the same. I can talk to Him and trust in Him. I can by faith treat this scripture as true and walk in His presence perpetually, uniformly and on every occasion.  When I do this and put my faith in Him, I will find Him there just as He said.

Benefits of His Presence:

Psalm 16:11 – You show me the path of life. In your presence there is fullness of joy; in your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Fullness of joy, pleasures forevermore, the path of life – are all found in His presence.

Acts 3:20 – …so that times of refreshing may come form the presence of the Lord… There are times of refreshing from His presence.

Psalm 31:20 – In the shelter of your presence you hide them from human plots; you hold them safe under your shelter from contentious tongues. In His presence is safety, a place to hide, even from words (or thoughts)

All Things are Possible

We need to learn to believe beyond what we think we can believe.  All things are possible with God. And  all things are possible to whoever will learn to believe beyond the limitations of their own mind and the common thoughts of the world around them. all things are possible to those who learn to think like God.

Mark 9:27; Matthew 19:26 – With men it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God.  We need to believe for things  that only God can get done.

Jeremiah 32:17 – Nothing is too difficult for God.

We need to renew our minds to believe these things in our lives.  We need to expand our thinking and learn to think like God.

Luke 1:37, 38 – For not any word (nothing) will be impossible with God.  …Be it done to me according to your Word.

Job 42:2 – I know that you can do all things and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted.

Genesis 18:10-14 – Is anything to difficult for the Lord.

Zechariah 8:6 (Living) – This is what the Lord Almighty says:  All this may seem impossible to you now, a small and discouraged remnant of God’s people.  But do you think this is impossible for me, the Lord Almighty?

Mark 9:23 – All things are possible to him who believes.  If you believe, you are powerful,  able and capable.  If you don’t believe you are powerless, weak and impotent.

Matthew 17:19-20 – If you have faith… nothing shall be impossible to you.

Luke 5:1-9 – Launch out into the deep.

Stretch your thinking.  Expand your expectation.  It is time again to expand your thinking and believing, to see and grasp more.

Strip off the old man with its unrenewed parts and unscriptural ways of thinking.  Put on the new man – all of the things God has made you.  Stretch out to embrace the good things you have seen in the Word and that your heart bears witness to with great excitement.

There is a great hunger after the realty and presence of God in the Church today!  That is a wonderful thing because those who hunger after God and the things of

God will be satisfied!

But many times there is too much begging God to come down, begging God to come near and things like that.  He already paid the greatest price to bring us near to Him.  He did that because He wants us near Him.  He wants closeness and intimacy with us far greater than the deepest hunger for Him we have ever felt!

If we start with what the Word says is already ours and go from there we will get much further than if we pray for God to do what He has already done and beg Him to give us what He has already given.

This is a completion of a teaching from two weeks ago, “A Present Help”.  If you missed the first part, you can find it here.

God’s Help is Real and Always There – You Must Draw Near and Take it

Psalm 46:1 – God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Living – God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.

God is always with me, a very present help in trouble, always ready to help in times of trouble. Sometimes we feel like He is far away or that He won’t help, but according to the Word, He is near and will help – always!  every time!  How do we get the help He offers?

Hebrews 2:18 – For since He Himself was tempted in that which He has suffered, He is able to come to the aid of those who are tempted. Amp – able (immediately) to run to the cry of (assist, relieve) those who are being tempted and tested and tried…

Hebrews 4:14-16 – For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Amp – that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in good time for every need (appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just when we need it).

The Lord is touched with the feelings of your infirmities, He always is moved with compassion and cares what you are going through, but that alone isn’t enough.  He is willing to help, but is moved to help you when you come boldly and TAKE of the mercy and grace that is always there. He will help me always!

God is able and willing to come to my aid when I am tempted.  Every Time!

The first step is to know He is there and will help.  The second step and the step which is most important is that you act on your knowledge and come boldly to His throne of mercy and TAKE; RECEIVE what you have need of in every time of need – just as the scripture above says – appropriate help and well timed help coming just when we need in in every time of need.

God is always the same regardless of feeling.  The Eternal God is real and full of power and mercy at all times.  Who He is, what He is, and what He has promised is not dependent on how much I feel He is real.

Matthew 28:20 (Amplified) – Teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you, and behold, I am with you all the days (perpetually, uniformly, and on every occasion), to the [very] close and consummation of the age.

Amen (so let it be).

He is with me all my days, perpetually, uniformly and on every occasion.  This is true regardless of my feelings.  God is always the same and always with me the same, but my perception and my feelings continually change.

How close He is to me never changes, but how close I stay to Him (in my awareness of Him and in my active fellowship with Him) can change based on me.  This is something within my power.   I can learn to live where His unchangeable presence and wonderful promises are as real to me when I don’t feel Him and when I don’t.

Truth is not based on my moods or passing emotions or the present circumstances around me but on the eternal realities and on the unchanging nature of God and the eternal Word of God.

I need to learn to rely on the fact of His unchangeable presence not the feeling or assurance of it.  Relying on feeling His presence throws things out of balance, because when I no longer feel Him, He seems to be gone.  If I don’t know better, I may even think He is gone.  But when I rely on a fact that is always the same, His presence never changes – because the fact never changes.  Truth is eternal.

Descriptions of Dry Places

Isaiah 58:11 – And the Lord will continually guide you and satisfy your desire in scorched places.

Psalm 63:1-2, 7-8 – O God, you are my God, I seek you, my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.  So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary, beholding your power and glory… for you have been my help, and in the shadow of your wings I sing for joy.  My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me.

Isaiah 41:17-18 – When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue is parched with thirst, I the LORD will answer them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them.  I will open rivers on the bare heights, and fountains in the midst of the valleys; I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.

Psalm 42:1-3 – As a deer longs for flowing streams, so my soul longs for you, O God.  My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.  When shall I come and behold the face of God?

My tears have been my food day and night, while people say to me continually, “Where is your God?”

Psalm 69:3 – I am weary with my crying; my throat is parched.  My eyes grow dim with waiting for my God.

Psalm 143:6 – I stretch out my hands to you; my soul thirsts for you like a parched land.  Answer me quickly, O LORD; my spirit fails.  Do not hide your face from me, or I shall be like those who go down to the Pit.  Let me hear of your steadfast love in the morning, for in you I put my trust.  Teach me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.
