1 Chronicles 4:10 – Jabez cried to the God of Israel, saying, oh, that You would bless me and enlarge my border, and that Your hand might be with me, and You would keep me from evil so it might not hurt me! And God granted his request.
(NLT) – He was the one who prayed to the God of Israel, oh, that you would bless me and expand my territory! Please be with me in all that I do, and keep me from all trouble and pain! And God granted him his request.
(MSG) – Jabez prayed to the God of Israel: bless me, O bless me! Give me land, large tracts of land. And provide your personal protection—don’t let evil hurt me. God gave him what he asked.
(TLB) – He was the one who prayed to the God of Israel, oh, that you would wonderfully bless me and help me in my work; please be with me in all that I do, and keep me from all evil and disaster! And God granted him his request.
(BBE) – And Jabez made a prayer to the God of Israel, saying, if only you would truly give me a blessing, and make wider the limits of my land, and let your hand be with me, and keep me from evil, so that I may not be troubled by it! And God gave him his desire.
(NJB) – Jabez called on the God of Israel. If you truly bless me, he said, you will extend my lands, your hand will be with me, you will keep harm away and my distress will cease. God granted him what he had asked.
(GW) – Jabez prayed to the God of Israel, please bless me and give me more territory. May your power be with me and free me from evil so that I will not be in pain. God gave him what he prayed for.
God granted His request to keep him from evil and disaster, that it wouldn’t hurt him, to keep him from all trouble and pain. If he asked and received this, then I also can.
He also asked for more territory and extended lands and enlarged borders and to walk in the presence of God.
Lord I ask and believe for all of these things also. Thank you.
Psalms 91:3, 5-8, 9-10 NLT) – For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease.
Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day. Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday. Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you. Just open your eyes, and see how the wicked are punished.
If you make the Lord your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter, no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home.
Lord, I ask and believe for this too, that you will keep me from all trouble pain and disaster, that what harms others won’t harm me. Thank you for granting my request.
You will rescue me from every trap and protect me from every plague. You are my refuge and shelter, therefore NO EVIL will conquer and NO PLAGUE will come near my home. I am not afraid of the terrors of the night or the arrow that flies in the day. I am not afraid of disease or disaster. The evils that fall all around me, the judgments on the world, do not touch me. Thank you Lord, I believe this and will live it all of the days of my life.
