Why Am I Not Healed

Why Am I Not Healed? I Believe in Healing

Scriptural Reasons People Aren’t Healed – Reasons 9-11

Not being a doer of the Word

Hebrews 4:1-3 – Therefore, let us fear if, while a promise remains of entering His rest, any one of you may seem to have come short of it. For indeed we have had good news preached to us, just as they also; but the word they heard did not profit them, BECAUSE it was not united by faith in those who heard. They did not enter in – although His works had been completed and prepared and waiting for all who would believe from the foundation of the world.

Healing was prepared for us from the foundation of the world.

Do you come short of the promise of healing? Are you living healthy and whole? If not, this might be the reason.

You need more than just hearing the word and mentally assenting you believe it. You need to work the truth down into your life till you become not only a hearer but also a doer. The Word has to become part of you. It is natural to be a doer of what is part of you. The truths of healing have to become part of your unconscious or default thinking processes.

We like to think we are a doer of the Word just because we heard and agree with a truth. Mental assent is just about a sin where I came from

James 1:22-25 – But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not just hearers who deceive themselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror; for once he has looked at himself and gone away, he has immediately forgotten what kind of person he was. But one who has looked intently at the perfect law, the law of freedom, and has continued in it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an active doer, this person will be blessed in what he does.

It doesn’t come naturally to be a doer of the word. There is more to being a doer of the Word than just hearing a truth once or twice. If you don’t take the time to go over a truth and feed on it till it enters your heart and becomes part of you, you won’t be a doer of it – even though you want to.

You must do more than hear truth and agree, you must look carefully at it and thoughtfully observe it. You must continue in it. Otherwise, you will go off and promptly forget what you have heard – and deceive yourself to think because you know the truth about healing and agree with it, you believe it and are a doer of it.

This is very subtle; that is why it is easy to deceive yourself. Be honest with yourself about what you really believe without self-condemnation?

Romans 14:23 (MSG) – But if you’re not sure, if you notice that you are acting in ways inconsistent with what you say you believe, then you know that something is out of line.

You Have Been Given Healing, but You Must TAKE THE LAND

In order to take the land of healing, you will need to fight the fight of faith and strip off the things that hinder you from living in all that God has provided. You will have to diligently and intentionally take the land of healing that God has given.

Having been given the land is a one-time thing, but taking it, kicking the enemies out, and living in it is a process.

Joshua 1:3-6 – Every place on which the sole of your foot treads, I have given it to you, just as I spoke to Moses. From the wilderness and this Lebanon, even as far as the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and as far as the Great Sea toward the setting of the sun will be your territory. No man will be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I have been with Moses, I will be with you; I will not fail you or forsake you. Be strong and courageous, for you shall give this people possession of the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.

Deuteronomy 11:24-25 – Every place where the sole of your foot shall tread shall be yours: from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, even to the uttermost sea shall be you border. There shall no man be able to stand before you; The Lord you God shall lay the fear of you and the dread of you upon all the land that you shall tread upon, as He has spoken to you.

Every place where the sole of your foot shall tread shall be yours. Who is it up do how much of the Promised Land you take? God has given all that we need, including health and healing, to all of us, but only those who tread on it, who take it, maybe with a fight, will possess it and live in it.

Though God’s provisions in Christ are freely give, they must be taken with force.

Hebrews 6:11-15 – Show diligence so as to realize the full assurance of hope until the end (take all of the promised land), so that you will not be sluggish but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.  Abraham, having patiently waited obtained the promise.

Joshua 18:3 – And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, how long are you slack to go in an possess the land which the Lord, the God of you fathers, has given you?

    Not Diligently Fighting for Healing

Though healing is provided for all, and by His stripes you are healed, it is not automatic.

You will need to fight the fight to take hold of and live in what the Lord has provided. You will have to enforce the enemy’s defeat. The enemy and his stuff will stay until you make him leave.

1 Timothy 6:12 – Fight the good fight of faith; take hold of the eternal life (John 10:10) to which you were called…

It is a fight to take hold of the wonderful abundant life of fulfilling your place in life. It doesn’t just happen.

There is a fight, and it takes effort. The Lord is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6).

We are not fighting flesh and blood. The main battle we have to fight is in renewing our minds and taking our thoughts captive so that we actually believe and trust in God and His provision.

2 Corinthians 10:3-5 – For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ,

Who are you fighting? Where is the battle? You are not fighting people (Ephesian 6:10-12). You are not fighting to GET healed.

The battle is in the mind. You are fighting to believe what Jesus has already done for your health and healing, remove any hindrances or anything blocking His provisions in your life, and actually walk in it!

Your continuing health is based on an ongoing decision to walk in health and enforce Christ’s victory. Walking in health can require persistence and a firm stand on the Word of God and His promises.

Through faith and patience you inherit the promises. You must be more persistent than the sickness that attacks us all.

The devil (and his sickness) won’t leave if you don’t actively and consistently resist him (James 4:7).

If you accept something, you are not resisting it. If you accept sickness as a normal part of life on earth, you are not resisting it; you are not fighting it. And it will most likely stay in your life. But it doesn’t have to. You can be free. You can live healthy.

Why do we accept sickness? We think it is normal. Continual sickness may be reality in the world, but it isn’t scriptural reality. It wasn’t’ there before the curse. It a result of sin and the curse.

It shouldn’t be the reality in the church. It shouldn’t be in your life. We need to turn this trend around. We need to change what we believe and resist the devil instead of just taking what comes.

We are told to pray God’s will be done ON EARTH as it is in heaven. There is no sickness in heaven. But because sickness is in the world, and it will come to us all. You will have to deal with it.

Hebrews 12:1-3 – Therefore, since we also have such a great cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let’s rid ourselves of every obstacle and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let’s run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking only at Jesus, the originator and perfecter of the faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

    V. 4 – You have not yet resisted to the point of shedding blood in your striving against sin.

There is a fight and a striving in walking with the Lord, putting off the old man and putting on the new, casting aside all sin and every obstacle. Not many have resisted the old things and pressed on into the new things, striving to the point of shedding blood.

Many things God has provided we won’t get without diligence. Sometimes you may have to resist harder and longer than you would like. You have not yet resisted to the point of shedding blood. But if you resist the devil, he will flee. Resist sickness, and it will flee.

Declare war on sickness and disease in your body. Develop a habit of standing against all sickness and disease as you do against sin – every time it shows up!!!

1 Peter 5:8-10 – Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.

    Activations

    • Ask the Lord to reveal to you reasons why you aren’t as healthy as you wish you were – and EXPECT Him to tell you – James 1:5-8; Jeremiah 17:9-10 (MSG).
    • When you see an area of lack in your believing and receiving:
    • Don’t condemn yourself. Condemnation will get you nowhere.
    • Find scriptures that counteract the lies you are believing, write them out, and speak them to yourself to break the old patterns – 2 Corinthians 10:3-5.
    • Purposely and intentionally believe what God has said. You will be transformed by changing what you think.
    • Spend time with the Lord seeing yourself with the promises of God; visualize your life healthy.

If you will take the time to go over these things and do the activations every week, your health will begin to be transformed. If you continue to do them, you can grow to the place where health is more normal to you than sickness, weakness, and disease.
